The Chocowinity Chicken Sanctuary

We are located in beautiful eastern North Carolina in the town of Chocowinity.

We have several volunteers:

Jim Robertson designed and did most of the building of the chicken coop and all the additions.  Here you can see Jim at work moving dirt, with Max supervising. 

Max, along with Jill and Rex, watch over the chickens.
Winston and Sandra Wooten are our neighbors and they volunteer to take care of the chickens when we are away.  Winston reminds me frequently that he is always “just a phone call away” if we need help.
Richie and Lesley Bucksar also volunteer at the sanctuary.  One or both of them are “back-up” for the Wootens if we are away or need help.

Currently we do not have any "normal" visiting hours or set hours for volunteers. Though we welcome visitors but by appoitment only and truly love those who volunteer their help.
