Everyone at our sanctuary is a volunteer, so no one receives a salary. All donations are tax deductible and go directly towards the care of the chickens in the form of food, bedding, and veterinary care. Please make all checks payable to: Chocowinity Chicken Sanctuary
Edith was a "spent hen" (a hen past her egg-laying prime in the commerical egg industry). She was severely debeaked, which is standard in the industry practice.
